Wow was this one of the greatest trips of my entire life. Lauren and Taylor flew me to Florida for twenty-four hours to capture their maternity photos, and that single day was filled with so much happiness and fun. Lauren is one of the greatest friends in life. She is such a kind + deserving mother and wife. Her and Taylor’s love is truly inspiring. As soon as I got off the plane at 11 a.m. we were off to enjoy a few hours at the beach. That we did, and then we headed back to their hotel room to get ready for photos. Because I was there for just twenty-four hours, I only packed my camera bag -which was shoved full of any necessities or clothes I needed for my short time there. I hadn’t been to the beach since I was a kid, so I didn’t need anything. Luckily, we got to the beach right on time – even with Florida traffic.

When we first got the the beach, gosh was it windy. The kind of wind where your hair just sweeps across your face. Lauren and Taylor inspire me so much just as humans. We made it all the way to St. Pete from Kentucky – we were not going to let some wind ruin anything.

I took over 2,000 images in the hour we were there. I literally could not believe I took that many – but I’m honestly glad I did with how crazy that wind was.

The colors of the beach were unimaginably beautiful. When we started, the sun was very sharp and bright, but I thought it matched the feel of their first outfits perfectly. As the sun went down, the water looked so blue. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky. We stood there and just started at the horizon as the sun dipped below it. That was such a core memory.

Being totally honest, I am used to all the greens out in the midwest, so editing these felt so different. I had to remind myself to just edit what felt right. Listen to your gut.
